An eyelid lift, also known as blepharoplasty, corrects signs of aging affecting the upper or lower eyelids. It is often performed to address sagging, wrinkled, or crepey skin on the upper lids or puffiness and undereye bags on the lower lids. You may choose to have your upper and lower eyelids treated in the same procedure.
It’s normal to experience minor swelling, bruising, and soreness after an eyelid lift. Your team will review your pain management options and ensure your comfort. Discomfort improves significantly after the first few days. However, each person’s recovery experience is unique.
The cost of an eyelid lift varies widely depending on many factors, but financing options are available.
We recommend a consultation to discuss your treatment goals and provide you with a more accurate estimate. Factors that affect the cost of your eyelid lift include:
Your surgeon’s skill and experience
The type of procedure performed
Whether you treat the upper lids, lower lids, or both
Anesthesia and other associated expenses
You will usually be able to go back to work after about a week. Dr. Waltzman will give you detailed instructions about when you can start becoming more active and how to care for yourself during recovery. Your eyes will look different almost immediately, but the swelling will take a few weeks to fade so that you can see your final results.
Each eyelid lift is unique, and whether you will have scars depends on how the procedure is performed. Incisions are usually made in the creases of the eyelids, making them nearly invisible after healing. Your team will provide instructions on how to care for your incisions so the scars become as inconspicuous as possible.
While an eyelid lift undoes many of the effects of aging, it cannot permanently stop the aging process. Results are long-lasting, but as the years pass, you may notice some changes. You can help your results last longer by using sun protection and quality skincare products.

These implants are a silicone shell containing sterile saline (salt water). Because they contain saline instead of silicone gel, any damage will leak saline that can be naturally absorbed into the body. This rare occurrence results in you knowing immediately if the implant is leaking, so you do not have to have regular breast imaging as you do with other implant types.
These implants are silicone gel contained in a more solid silicone shell. They tend to look and feel more natural in the body and will not show effects such as rippling as a saline implant might, especially with patients with thin skin.
While people may have concerns about silicone leaking into the body, this is very rare and the silicone used does not leak out easily. Still, we recommend during your regular breast imaging to check the status of the implants.
Gummy bear implants are silicone implants with a cohesive gel that feels natural and gives your breasts shape and projection. These implants are popular due to their natural look and feel as well as safety.
The material will remain inside the implant even if it is cut in half, eliminating concerns about silicone spreading away from the implant in the rare event the implant ruptures. You’ll want to schedule regular breast imaging to check the status of the implants.
